A Tragedy To Remember

Muffy had an accident. Waktu tu, Omma and Appa keluar pergi tengok Rumah Wan kat Cheras. Waktu Appa keluar, Muffy ikut sekali. I thought, nah, dia nak jalan-jalan kot. So I let her. Tiba-tiba, I heard ada bunyi mvm kucing menjerit. I thought ada kucing bergaduh kat luar. So , I ignored it. Few seconds after that, Omma panggil suruh keluar tengok Muffy. I was stunned. Yep, she's got hit waktu Appa tengah reverse kereta. Her leg was broken, and she injured, BADLY. Appa and Omma pun cepat-cepatlah cari klinik haiwan yang bukak hari Ahad. They found one, at Seksyen 20. But sadly, they said that keadaan Muffy teruk sangat, sor dia refer dekat seorang vet kat Klang. Omma said, waktu dalam perjalanan nak pegi vet tu, Muffy tenang je. Cuma kadang-kadang dia mengiau sikit sebab sakit. By the time diorang sampai kat klinik tu, Muffy terus kena rawat. Omma said, Muffy dah susah nak bernafas. Nafas dia dah satu-satu. When I heard that, I started to cry. I keep praying to Allah so that she still can be saved. They don't know what was wrong with her, accept kaki dia patah, because Muffy dah start panik. They calmed her down, and provide her with IV fluid.

The next morning, that clinic called Omma, cakap Muffy dah stabil. The vet dah buat x-ray semua and they dah tahu, what caused her to have a weird breathing. Dia cakap, maybe waktu Appa langgar Muffy, tekanan impact tu cause dia punya diaphragm ternaik ke perut. So, dia suggest buat surgery. And we decided to go with that plan. Then dia suruh datang jenguk Muffy dekat klinik before dia buat surgery tu. Bila dah sampai situ, kitorang terus cari Muffy. 

That is how her looks like at that time. I know that she was in pain everytime I look into her eyes.  Due to her broken leg, all she can do was just turning her head. Seriously, I felt useless that time. And of course, we all started crying. Then we went to meet the vet. Due to the price for the surgery, he gave us 2 options. One, surgery. Two, let her die slowly. Of course, we chose number 1. He said that surgery was a very risky surgery. Muffy ada 50-50 percent chance to live. But we willing to take the risk. Then I told him that she's might be pregnant, sebab kebelakangan ni dia asyik moody je, plus, dia makin berat. Then dia kata, kalau betul Muffy pregnant, they have to abort it.

9.00 p.m

The vet called Omma, telling her that she was stable. The surgery was a success. Sumpah, hanya Allah je yang tahu betapa gembiranya kitorang. Then dia report kat kitorang pasal surgery tu. Dia cakap, paru-paru Muffy penuh dengan darah, and dia berjaya bersihkan and jahit balik, plus, dia bun dah turunkan balik diaphragm dia. The vet cakap, nasib buat cepat. Kalau tak, she might be dead due to internal bleeding sebab diaphragm dia almost bercantum dengan perut dia. And the worst thing is, she was PREGNANT. Due to the accident, anak-anak dia mati and her womb pecah, so they have to removed them. I was a bit sad sebab nanti Muffy takda waris, but bila fikir balik, that's okay, as long as she is alived.

Next morning, the clinic called bagitau yang dia dah sedar. Dia kata dia dah start membuang and started to eat soft food. Plus, the vet cakap dia dah start duduk tegak dah. I am so proud of her. The vet said that, Muffy punya willing to survive tinggi. Dia pun amazed tengok Muffy! But the had to let her stay there until Friday untuk tengok progress 

Today

So, esok Muffy dah boleh balik!! I can't wait to see her. Willy pun rindu dekat Muffy.

Some people asked Appa, why we spend a huge amount of money on a cat? Why not let her die? If she die, we can get her replaced with a new kitty.

Well, my answer is there is no cat in the world that can replace her. It was our fault dia accident. Kalau dia mati on the spot during accident tu, faham la, tapi dia tak mati. Dia boleh lari lagi lepas tu. If I let her die, I will take her few weeks to die. I couldn't not afford to let her suffer that long. I've already experienced that with Nico. Nico was a special case. She died because she was sick in first place. There was no cure left. We had try everything to save her, at one point, the vet said that the only way now was just to wait and let her die. But in Muffy's case, there were options. If I still can save her, I will save her. I saw her grow with my own eyes. I took care of her ever since she was just a kitten. She's a family. Not just a mere stray cat.
